I have starting getting into reading again recently, according to my Goodreads stats this is the most active that I have ever been. I was looking for something a little different when I was browsing the Amazon Kindle store and I came across this small trilogy that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Shadowspell Academy is co-authored by K.F. Breene & Shannon Mayer. I have never read any of the author's previously work so wasn't entirely sure what I was getting myself in for. The plot follows a girl called Wild participating in the Culling Trials, a sort of test for magical beings, whilst being disguised as her brother Billy in order to protect him from the dangerous and sometimes fatal tests. Wild ends up teaming with a ragtag mix of supernaturals to face the trails with.

I managed to get through the trilogy in about 9 or so hours with each book taking 3 hours to complete which will vary depending on your own personal reading speed. I had fun with it and I hope the series continues in the future as there were some unanswered questions in the final book that I am curious to know.

Fair warning, the first two books end in cliffhangers.
